The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Islamic-oriented couple therapy on marital optimism. It was a quasi-experiment design with pre and post-test and control groups. The population was the couples referred to counseling center in Isfahan Jameatol-Quran . The sample of this study included 30 couples (60 persons) who had been chosen from those who were available and volunteers. They were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Couples in the experimental group received Islamic-oriented couple therapy. Both groups took the post test. The results of analyses of covariance showed that Islamic-oriented couple therapy significantly affected marital optimism and its subscales (p = 0.001). There was no significant difference between men and women’s marital optimism. The interaction between therapy and gender was not significant.

Â The perpose of this stud was to determiine the effpyct of group rational emotive therapy on inefficient ideas of female high school students . Therfor 24 students were randomly selected and two therapy and control groups. The therapy group received 10 sessions of 90 minute therapy while the control groups did not receive any thing. The inefficient ideas quertomaire was administered to all subjects as the pre and post tests. The results of analysis of covariance showed that the mean total scores of the therapy group was significantly less on the following sub-scales : expectations (p=0/05) , excessive anxiety (p=0/04) , helplessness with change (p=0/05) , expecting others support (p=0/03) , and dependency (p=0/0001) .

Introduction and purpose: Attention Deficit Disorder/Hyperactivity is one of the most prevalent psychological disorders amongst children, which may lead to undesirable consequences both within short and long terms for children, families, and society. As a result, applying suitable tools to accurately evaluate and diagnose this disorder on time will follow with beneficial advantages. For this purpose, the present study tried to determine the psychometric characteristics of this scale. Research method: the statistical population included the elementary students in Isfahan during 2009-2010. The sample was 500 Students and sampling was done by random clustering at various stages. Measurement tools were SNAP-IV ranking scale (parents’ form), ODDRS scale, and parents’ Canners questionnaire. Results: The item-total correlations were between 0.38 and 0.63. Results of factor analysis showed that SNAP-IV rating scale is in fact multi-dimensional (attention deficit, hyperactivity/impulsiveness, and opposing defiant), which determines 0.37 of the variance. The reliability coefficients for the total scale, attention deficit, hyperactivity/impulsiveness, and opposing defiant were 0.89, 0.83, 0.82, and 0.80, respectively. Coefficient of correlation of this test and Canners rating scale for attention deficit was 0.72, hyperactivity/impulsive 0.76 and with grading scale opposing defiant was 0.72. Conclusion: SNAP-IV rating scale is considered to be a multi-dimensional tool that is suitable for evaluation and measurement of ADHD and ODD disorders.

Â The main focus of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of three methods, i.e. stress inoculation training, systematic desensitization, and a combined approach of these two methods on test anxiety, academic performance and self-efficacy of male university students with test anxiety. The population was all male students of Dehdasht Azad University studying in 1389 who got high scores in the pre-test and had test anxiety. The sample size was 341 students who were randomly selected. 80 who had test anxiety according to the test anxiety inventory of Spielberger were assigned to three experimental groups and one control group. The data for this study were collected via test anxiety inventory of Spielberger (1980), self-efficiency inventory (Sherer et al, 1982) and students' grade point average which was considered as their academic performance. The results of multivariable analysis of variance showed that all three training methods were efficient in reducing students' test anxiety (F=6.269, P

Â The purpose of this research was to determaine the psychometric properties of Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS) among Autistic Children and Adolescents in Isfahan. The Statistical population of the study was all Autistic Children and Adolescents (3-18 years), out of which 100 were selected randomly as the statistical sample. Data were collected by administering GARS. Content and face validity of the scale were confirmed by psychology experts. For estimating concurrent validity the correlation between GARS and CARS was 0.80. Its reliability was 0.89 through Chronbach's alpha. The sample was compared with normal children through discriminant analysis. The cut-off point was 52, sensitivity was 99 and specificity was 100 percent. Findings showed that GARS is a valid scale for measuring autism. With regard to its proper validity and reliability, this scale can be used in psychotherapy and research centers. Also, results showed that there was no significant correlation between age and autism symptoms and there was no significant difference between boys and girls in autism symptoms.
